| Editorial Reviews:
Product Description The country's longest-standing scenic book, 'A Portrait of New Zealand' depicts the landscapes of the North and South Islands in over 200 photographs. The book was first published in 1982 in two separate volumes, with the combined edition published in 1988 and reprinted every year since. This new edition contains the same well-loved images but has been given new colour reproduction throughout in order to restore teh spectacular quality of the original photographs. Errol Brathwaite's original text has been revised and rewritten by the mulit-award winning journalist and writer Jill Worrall.

| Customer Reviews: A Portrait of New Zealand June 25, 2009 Penetralia A Portrait of New Zealand is the best book we've seen of our favorite destination. The photographs therein are divine, and are coupled with a fabulous, detailed narrative by the authors. This text is surely more than a portrait!
I would give 10 stars if I could July 3, 2010 I. Alde (Oxford, AR) I became enamored of New Zealand through descriptions in the books of Mary Scott and Essie Summers, and I had seen the occasional photograph of the country. When I read the description of this book, I knew I had to have it.
The quality of the book is exceptional, the pictures are absolutely beautiful and bring the varied scenery of that amazing country close to you.
If you are planning a trip to New Zealand, if you are just interested in New Zealand or if you want to see something breathtakingly beautiful, buy this book!
Warning for New Zealanders: Unless you want to be overrun by visitors, do not give this book to relatives and friends. Anyone looking at it must want to come and see the sights pictured.
